DC Swamp Thing Review #1 By Marcmann comics

Dc Comics, writer Jonathan Vankin and Swamp Thing bring to you another chilling series based from the Brightest Day series aftermath. The story of John Constantine and his search for the long lost partner Is sure to open up a new door for fans of the Brightest Day series alike. For a first issue, you may be thinking that there Isn't alot of open detail to It. The writing methods may seem a little boring and uninteresting. It doesn't really open with much thought and doesn't really explain what truly Is going on.

There Is a part In the story line speaking of which Batman investigates a murder and finds his servant, Alfred, laid out across the floor of the Bat cave. Alot of the methods In this story are dead weight. For readers who don't know much about the Brightest Day series, this story may come as a turnoff and quite bit confusing. In my personal opinion, Im gonna give this series another go. The artwork Is cool, nothing too special. I think It could have been better honestly. The next issue Is In September so I will check for that. Until then, new readers of the DC Brightest Day Aftermath, don't get your hopes up too fast.

Fear Itself: Wolverine part one review by Marcmann Comics

A new plague had spread upon the Marvel Universe and that plague Is Fear Itself, the newest series added to the Marvel community which features Wolverine and his battle against the evils of Manhattan. A group of Mercenaries called team S.T.R.I.K.E somehow managed to steal S.H.I.E.L.D’s hellicarrier from Norman Osborn. Wolverine goes In to investigate just exactly what happens. Wolverine’s girlfriend, Medina, goes on to find out information about S.T.R.I.K.E and gets Into panic mode hoping that millions of innocent people do not get hurt over sending out the wrong information. Wolverine then brakes Into the carrier and is shot and stunned down by a member of S.T.R.I.K.E for hostage.

This issue really wasnt what I thought It was gonna be. Not saying It was bad, however, It’s just different. It seemed more like a “Wolverine on a top secret underground mission” more so than the actual story starting off as him being a hero. I like his girlfriend though, she seems compassionate and caring and need I say “Daring”. I like the artwork and the inking Is good. It’s an ok first issue. I personally prefer the other Fear Itself storylines as of right now, but I will see If Wolverine has anymore to offer In the next couple of issue. Not suspenseful and I highly suggest flipping through It before spending $2.99 on this one.

Flashpoint Issue 2 Abin Sur review by Marcmann comics

Once again we have another exciting issue from the Flashpoint series and the Green Lantern storybooks. The Dc Universe presents to you: Abin Sur, the Flashpoint series. Shout outs to Adam Schlagman for doing a great job on the part 2 story line. Not to mention Lantern 2814 was discovered In issue one, which Is pretty much the missing alien. Green Lantern comics has always been known to me to bring excitement Into the storyline. This one Is definitely a must read for fans who have already peeped part one.

It turns out that Cyborg has arrived and interrupts the ring transferrence which changes the course of history as we know It. The original mission of Abin Sur becomes revealed to the world, which stirs up controversy between himself and the guardians of the universe. It causes a even bigger problem between him and Thall Sinestro, In which they battle for a new beginning In the universe. The Flashpoint changes the faces of heroes and villians alike, and unfortunately for Abin Sur, It doesn't look too good for him.

This Is a exciting part 2 of the Abin Sur series. The artwork and Inking Is beyond incredible. You have the main characters, Sinestro, Abin Sur, and the guardians of the universe. Then you have Cyborg, who also plays a big role In the Green Lantern series. I like how they portray Abin Sur In being a savior and protector of the Lanterns. I just hope they keep the next issue with that much  enthusiasm as the the first two issues. No further spoilers will be added. Definitely a must read for anyone who Is a Green Lantern or DC Universe fan.

Flashpoint: Project Superman issue 1 review by Marcmann

It seems that the DC universe keeps getting more interesting by the minute. A new intake of the Flashpoint series has taken place and It begins a new stage within It's 52 issue series. The new project: Project Superman, Is sure to take the readers on a new journey that Superman fans have never been before.

Issue 1 starts off telling the story of Lieutenant Sinclair, a young solider who was aware of superhuman strength and the cause and effect of the universe. Sinclair Is given the open opportunity to obtain the  power of a true superhero, alot of changes don't always go as planned.  This story has a Captain America/ Super Solider feel to It considering the theories of DNA genetic testing and experimenting on trying to build a superhero.

Lowell Francis and Scott Snyder are definitely bringing a fresh, new, and interesting concept to the table. I really like the fact that this story isn't overdrawn, and they are actually taking the time out to really explain to the reader what the story line is about, rather than drawing us to the middle with no beginning. Definitely unlike any other Superman story you have read about. The inking and artwork Is  9. out of 10 In my opinion. Definitely another title you should check out from the DC universe.

Futurama Issue 56 review By Marcmann comics

Alot of people have known me over the years for being a Marvel Comic and Dc Universe fan. What alot of people also don’t know Is that Im a Matt Groening nerd as well (Simpsons, Futurama). Bongo comics has never  failed to disappoint me, and neither has the Futurama series. Issue 56 definitely takes a new turn and direction with the storylines and humor.

The Planet Express crew Is on a brand new mission to earth when all of a sudden Fry Is tempted to hit the wrong button on the ship. Instead of hitting the hailing frequency button to alert planet earth, he accidently hits the anti-asteroid missile launcher, blowing up the planet earth. A month later at the intergalactic court of crimes, Fry Is being charged of destroying a restuarant, Earthies. Fry Is being sued and In order to be free of charges, the crew will have to work off the debt by enduring a hell driven plot working In their restaurant.

Fry Is then appointed manager of the restaurant while Leela and Bender are under Fry’s control. The orders for this restaurant are ridiculous as one of the orders was over a Thousand hamburgers at once and they had to be delivered to different parts of earth. Their leader was a evil clown who ran the corporation. Bender runs over millions of dollars In Internet and credit card tabs using his programmed wi-fi, and they had just about enough of Fry’s bossy and controlling ways. They then go on strike and say they will quit If not given the proper respect. Meanwhile, a local restaurant, The Hot Dog Shack, were their rivals. Claims that Fry really didnt blow up the restaurant and that It was a sick joke just to make humans work off debt.

Learning their lesson, the business becomes shut down and back to Planet Express they go. Fry owes debt for the missile he fired from Planet Express and pays It off by cooking up everyones breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the rest of the year. This Is definitely a good read for fans of Simpsons, Futurama, and anyone with a sense of humor. The artwork Is great, the storyline entices the reader to want more, and overall Matt Groening does a fantastic job with the series. I am definitely a fan of the comic book and the tv series as well. Check out issue 57 next month……

Flashpoint Issue 3 review by Marcmann

DC Comics and the Dc Universe present a new 52 issue series by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert entitled: Flashpoint. This Is part 3 of 5: Project Superman revealed.

Batman and Barry Allen have put all differences aside and have teamed up together to figure out a new plan after realizing Barry’s powers are no longer In use. Barry tried to convince Batman that Professor Zoom was wrong In alot of his calculations and preassumptions to his power. Cyborg then teams up with Batman and Barry to discover the newest project for Project Superman. Cyborg and the crew head out to the new Metropolis to try and stop the project from self destruction.

Issue 3 doesn’t really do alot of justice. The plot doesn’t really move forward, and It leaves the reader wondering what happens next. Geoff and Andy have two more  issues to really step It up and excite me as far as Im concerned. Flashpoint Is a great series, but for part 3. I think I’m gonna take a raincheck on this one.
